What Fish Cutting Meme collects, how your photo is used to make your video, how long we keep it, analytics and payments.
Fish Cutting Meme is an independent tool that turns one photo into a fish cutting meme video. This page explains what we collect when you use it and what we do with it. Questions: support@fishcuttingmeme.com.
What we collect
- Your account: your email address and name. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your email address, name and profile picture with us; we never see your Google password.
- Your photo: the photo you upload to make a video.
- Your videos: the videos made from your photo.
- Your credits: the credits you buy, use, get back and redeem.
- Payments: see "Payments" below.
- Usage analytics: see "Analytics" below.
- Basic logs: like most websites, our hosting records technical data such as your IP address and browser, to keep the site running and secure.
How your photo is used
Your photo is used only to make your video. We do not use your photo to train models, we never sell it and we never show it on this site.
To make the video, your photo is stored behind an unlisted link: a long, random address that is not published anywhere, so the AI video model can read it. Anyone who has that exact link could open the photo, so only upload a photo you are comfortable sharing that way. To generate the video, your photo is processed by the third-party AI provider we use, yir.ai, and the video model it runs. We send it to them only to make your video.
How long we keep it
- Your photo is deleted from our storage automatically 7 days after you upload it. Email support@fishcuttingmeme.com if you want it deleted sooner. The copy yir.ai receives to make your video is kept under yir.ai's own terms, which we do not control.
- Your video is hosted by yir.ai at the link it gives us; we do not keep our own copy. The link works for 7 days, so download your video within 7 days. After that it can no longer be downloaded.
You can also delete your account from your account settings. That removes your account data; your photo is still deleted from our storage 7 days after upload.
We keep payment and credit records as long as the law requires for tax and accounting.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics (GA4) on this site to understand how many people visit and which steps they complete. Google Analytics uses cookies and receives the address of each page you open, your approximate location, your device and browser. Besides page views, we send these events:
photo_added: a photo finished uploading;begin_checkout: you started a checkout, with the credit pack you chose;checkout_paid: your payment was confirmed;video_started,video_ready,video_failed: a video started, finished or failed;video_download: you pressed download.
These events carry no file names, photo links or email addresses. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.
Payments
When you buy credits, Stripe runs the checkout. Stripe collects your card details, billing details and email address to take the payment and prevent fraud; we never see or store your card number. From Stripe we keep your email address, the order number, the amount, the credit pack and whether the payment went through.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the services that run this site, for the purpose described here:
- our hosting, database and file storage provider (Cloudflare);
- yir.ai, the AI provider that turns your photo into a video;
- Stripe, for payments;
- Google, for analytics and, if you choose it, for signing in.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your settings, such as light or dark mode, and Google Analytics uses cookies to count visits. We do not use advertising cookies.
Emails
We send emails you need, such as sign-in and payment messages. If we send you news about the service, every message has an unsubscribe link.

This service is for people 18 and older. Do not upload photos of children.

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how we use it, by emailing support@fishcuttingmeme.com.
